SINGLE TRAVELLER POLICY

Single travellers are accommodated on this tour, and have the option to share with another male/female or opt for a Single Room Supplement for the duration of the tour ($150 per person Single Supplement). By default, all booking requests are reserved as TWIN SHARE unless otherwise indicated. We require notification on your Booking Form of your request for alternative accommodation/bedding if required.

WHAT TO BRING

Casual gear is a must.
You will need:

  • 4 or 5 changes of clothing: shirts, jeans, shorts, swimming gear
  • bath and hand towel
  • a pair of rubber soled shoes or joggers, footwear suitable for walking through water (old shoes or wetsuit boots),
  • a warm jumper, jacket or tracksuit
  • hat
  • torch
  • sleeping bag
  • pillow
  • insect repellant and toiletries. A tracksuit is most useful too.
  • perhaps suitable casual attire for a night out
  • brown and green clothing is also encouraged for blending into surrounds.

Please keep all your travel items in a soft bag rather than a hard/wheeled suitcase. This ensures we can fit everyone's luggage in the bus and minimises damage during travel.

VIEWING THE ANIMALS

Binoculars are a must - these can be purchased from most photographic stores or online with compact pairs starting at around $100. One spotting scope will be available for use by guests, if you have one of your own you are welcome to bring it along.

Please be courteous to your fellow tour members when viewing the wildlife - once you've had a look please allow others to get a view.

Reference books will be available for use by guests.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is encouraged on this trip and there will be many opportunities. For taking close-up photos of birds, an SLR or digital SLR with at least a 300mm lens will be necessary. Point and shoot film and digital cameras are great for capturing images of nearby animals, landscapes and people.

VEHICLE

17-seat 4WD touring coach, forward facing seats, air-conditioned. We will also have a self-contained kitchen-trailer for all catering and dining facilities.

DRIVER/GUIDE/COOK

This tour includes the services and assistance of a Driver/Guide, and a Cook/Camp Assistant.

MEALS

All meals are planned and prepared by our own Cook. Tour Participants who require special meals or who have dietary requirements for medical reasons are advised to notify us of your requirements, so we may endeavour to accommodate your requests.

PITCHING AND PACKING UP TENTS
Participants will erect and pack-up their own tents. All equipment is easy to use and instruction and help will be available.
GROUP PARTICIPATION

Although our tour is fully-catered and our cook will arrange the meals, we do encourage a level of participation from our tour members. Past experience with group tours indicates that a minimal level of participation or assistance with the preparation and clean-up of meals, the set-up and pack-up of daily camps, not only expedites our departure and maximises our time at the destination, however also proves to be a successful bonding experience for the group.

Participation is certainly not compulsory however is encouraged. Those travellers who require assistance or who are unable to join in group activities or camp preparation are catered for.

GPS POLICY

In order to protect the fragile environment of the regions we will visit, the use of personal G.P.S or other tracking devices is strictly prohibited. Our Vehicle however will be equipment will necessary navigation equipment and emergency communication devices.
